How to Use Blog Commenting to Start a Conversation

by George

Blog commenting is one of the best ways to promote you.

Do you comment on other blogs? Do you interact with the blogging community?

To build your personal brand, you need to get your name out there; commenting on other blogs can help.

Engaging the blogging community is how you get your name out in the open. The more people know about you, the more will want to know you. When you comment on other blogs, you get your name and a link back to your site. Don’t just write a “me too” comment; write something meaningful that will get you on the radar of the blog owner and their readers.

There are many benefits to commenting on blogs; here are a few of them:

  • Get Your Name in the Open – With each comment, you get your name in front of the blog owner and their readers. Are you building a brand for a company or for yourself? Enter the correct name of your brand.
  • You Get a Link – When you enter a comment on another blog, you get to enter a link to your own site. Now you have a way for others to know about you. They can come to your home base and check you out. This is also good for link building. I will post more on that in another post.
  • Interact with the Community – The more comments you post, the more you interact with the community. When others see you interacting, they see someone they want to get to know more.

A good plan is to find five blogs to comment on each day. Don’t spread yourself too thin in the beginning. Once you get a following, start branching out to more comments on more blogs.

When you comment, you interact; when you interact, others see you and want to know about you.

How do you interact with the community? Do you comment on other blogs? Share by leaving a comment here.

Great tips! I’ve been wanting to get involved in some sites. I think blog commenting is the best way to reach people and converse with them.
