The Secret of My Success – remember that movie? It starred a younger Michael J. Fox and others about a young kid that goes from the country to the big city for a job from his uncle that runs a large company. Short of it is this: the uncle is a scumbag; Fox befriends his aunt and uses his internal influence to takeover the company and become a success.
Does this happen in the real world? Possibly, but not very likely. For the rest of us, there is only one thing we must depend on to become a success.
What’s the Secret to Success?
Does success come this easy for everyone? Think someone is going to help you become an instant success? Well, if you live in the clouds and think drinking a diet soda while eating doughnuts is going to help you lose weight, then you might think that way.
Now, I hope you don’t think that way if you want to shed pounds or create a successful business. The only person that is going to create success for you is: YOU!
No rich aunt or uncle or godmother is going to swoop in and give you success. Well, there are exceptions, but those are the people who couldn’t boil water if their life depended on it.
That’s right, you heard me. The only person that’s going to make anything happen for you and your business is you. If you don’t want it and work at it, then you might was well go down to burger flippers and start practicing, “would you like a hot apple pie with that” speech.
You make your own decisions. You need to make the time to create your success.
I can’t stand all the ads and programs like: “buy this product now and you will be rich, successful and only have to work 5 minutes a day to do it.”
Are you freaking kidding me?
If it were that easy, wouldn’t everyone have a successful business, be rich and let our robotic slaves do everything else for us? We all know how that would turn out: robots would rise up against the humans; global war and robots would take over the world while hunting all human beings!
So, here’s the deal:
- You have the power to create opportunities.
- If you don’t do it, no one is going to do it for you.
- Make a plan and don’t fly by the seat of your pants.
- Make time to work on your business and avoid distractions. If you have to do it at 1am, so be it.
- Get in a rut; look at ways to inspire yourself to move forward.
- Find out what your customers want, create services or products around that and give them to your customers.
- Make your customers feel great about the work you do for them and how you treat them. It’s not always about money. The better you make a customer feel, the more they will trust you and want to give more to you.
So, what are you waiting on? What are you doing to create your own success?
