The social way of doing business has changed many things, but one thing hasn’t changed – provide what your customer needs.

Are you REALLY listening to your customers?

You DO have something that your customers need, don’t you?

Do you provide customers an easy way to buy it from you?

Let me tell you what popped this idea into my head.

As I said, I was out looking for some firewood for the fireplace. I live in the sunshine state, but it’s more like the anything but warm state now.

The best place to get some wood here is right down the road at the local fruit stand; they also sell wood by the truckloads. They have a simple way of doing things: you back in, give them the money, they toss the wood in your vehicle and you drive away.

Simple, huh? Sometimes simple is better.

Now, you are probably asking, “what does this have to do with business?”

The answer is this: they had what I needed and made it easy for me to buy it.

It’s cold and I need wood to burn in my fireplace; that little fruit stand had the wood and even put it in my vehicle for me. They provide what the customer needs and give their customers an easy way to buy it.

You know what this does for that little fruit stand? The benefits they pass to their customers will come back to them. Now that customer tells another person where and how easy it is to get wood and then another and another.

How do you think I heard about it? Someone told me about it.

They don’t have any fancy advertising campaign or anything like that – it is all word of mouth from satisfied customers.

This is what we need to remember about business – provide what your customer needs and give them an easy way to buy it. If it is too much work to buy your product or services, that client is going somewhere else.

When you have what they want and make it simple to get it, they will keep coming back and tell their friends about you.

So, do you offer what your customers need?

How are you making it easier for your customers to buy it?
