This week is Thanksgiving week for us here in the United States and I’m sure there will be many bloggers putting out their “thankful” posts. For me, I am doing the same, but being thankful isn’t just about saying it once a year, it’s giving thanks all year long.

Today’s world isn’t the one I remember growing up in. We have severe problems with our economy, health care, jobs and much more. Families are loosing their jobs, homes and sometimes more. Today, if you can say have a roof over your head, food on the table and don’t have a bank foreclosing on your home, well, you need to be grateful.

Everyday I give thanks – cause I know it could be so much worse for my family and me. We’re not rich, nor are we facing foreclosure and try to find ways to afford to help our youngest daughter find what causes her condition, but we are thankful for what we have.

As many families sit down this Thanksgiving with family and friends, please take a moment and remember:

• Those who don’t even have a house to live in or unable to put food on the table everyday
• Think of the men and women in our armed forces who can’t be with their families, but barely earn enough while putting their lives on the line for us.
• Think of the families who can’t afford healthcare for their loved ones. Think of those who can’t help themselves.

Today and everyday I give thanks for me, my family and friends. I also ask God to help those who need it.  If you are able, I ask you to do the same.

Giving thanks isn’t about just one day of the year; it’s about giving thanks all the time while giving something of yourself to those who can’t help themselves.

What a crazy weekend! A broken washer, then being bailed out on that and to top it off, July 5th is a holiday instead and it’s throwing me for a loop.

One thing that is near and dear to me is Special Needs parenting. I am the parent of two beautiful children; both still under the age of 6. My youngest is a Special Needs child.

The things we do know she has are Ataxia and Hypotonia; no specialist has been able to tell us any more. She is unable to stand, walk, communicate verbally, has shakes or tremors and now some history of seizures. We are still looking for an answer and hope one day we will find one.

Just about a month or so ago, I begun writing for and promoting a new site that focuses on Special Needs parenting and disabilities. I think this is a great site and it just recently has launched publically. If you need help with this special matter, I urge you check out this site at: ChildRC.com

I know this is not a post on anything to do with what I usually post about, but I wanted to make aware to everyone this site is live and I firmly believe in this cause.
